2-Man 3/3/3 Matches

2-Man 3/3/3 Matches are 9 hole matches in which the first three holes are "Alternating Shots", the next three holes are "Shamble", and the last three holes are "Scramble". The team with the lowest score on the hole (best ball in "Shamble") wins the hole. Each hole is worth 1 pt, and the match is worth 1 pt for a total of 10 pts per match. If a hole is tied, then each team receives a 1/2 pt for the hole. If the match is tied, then each team receives a 1/2 pt for the match.

  • Alternating Shot:

Both players tee off, and the best drive is selected. The player that did not hit the selected drive hits the second shot, and the team alternates hitting shots until the hole is finished.
  • Shamble:

Both player tee off, and the best drive is selected. Each player plays his own ball from this spot. The team score is the best ball for the team (no strokes in this format).
  • Scramble:

The Fall Classic Modified Calcutta

The 2009 Fall Classic will once again feature the Modified Calcutta. The payout for the Modified Calcutta has changed slightly for 2009 as we will no longer be drawing names.

The total pot for the Calcutta is $200.

Each participant will have ownership in two golfers:

  • Yourself
  • Free pick (you can pick anyone in the field that you think might win the Championship, picks will be made prior to the first tee time on Thursday)
The Champion and his shareholders will split the Calcutta pot. The payouts will be based on the number of people that pick the Champion.

# of people picking winner Champ's Share Picker's Share
0$200.00-
1$100.00$100.00
2$100.00$50.00 each
3$100.00$33.33 each
4$100.00$25.00 each

Example #1:

Pat wins the Championship. No one picked him with their pick. The pot would be split based on zero people picking the winner:

  • Pat (Champ's share) : $200.00

Example #2:

Pat wins the Championship. Mike and Perry picked Pat to win with their pick. Therefore the pot would be split based on two people picking the winner:

  • Pat (Champ's share) : $100.00
  • Mike (Picker's share) : $50.00
  • Perry (Picker's share) : $50.00

Example #3:

Pat wins the Championship. Mike, Perry, and Pat picked Pat (you can pick yourself). Therefore the pot would be split based on three people picking the winner:

  • Pat (Champ's share + Picker's share) : $100.00 + $33.33 = $133.33
  • Mike (Picker's share) : $33.33
  • Perry (Picker's share) : $33.33
